India Is Raped

Rape
Why do you ruin HER body?
Rape
Why do you ruin her dignity?
Rape
Why don't you hesitate to ruin the innocence of a child?
Rape
Why do you ruin HER soul?
Rape
Why do you take HER life?

I don't know where are we heading.
I don't know if someone is even hearing the screams of the fallen.
I don't know whether the pain of the victim is realized.
I do know - Nobody cares.

Whenever a crime of rape is "REPORTED" ( I have quoted this word because there are thousands of cases that are not reported. Thousands of rape cases, thousands of molestation and sexual harassment cases are not reported due to the fear of defamation) we express our anger, our rage and demand justice for the victim and punishment for the culprit. I don't see anything wrong with this. But, we do all these things only for a small interval of time. I don't see anyone displaying their outrage on Nirbhaya's case (the rape case that took place in Delhi in 2012) at present. A bitter truth is this, that we all follow or talk about something we see today. We have a very bad tendency of giving up. But it is not righteous to blame the people of the nation because we are bound by law.

It is ethical to keep our actions confined to a limit that would not affect the peace of the country adversely. The need of the hour is a change in the punishment for this atrocious crime. Rape is a sexual assault that is done to satisfy one's sexual pleasure forcefully and with brutality. Do men only possess sexual feelings? I have read somewhere that the intensity of the sexual desire of a woman is the same as that of a man. But women don't go hunting men to fulfill their sexual satisfaction. The brutes who commit this heinous crime can never be defended or should never be defended on any ground. Many of us call them animals but animals are far better than them. The only appropriate term which can be used for them is a Hindi word - 'HAIWAAN".

India is the most unsafe country in the world for women not only because of the crime against women but also because of the leniency in our law. Law in India is inclined more towards saving the innocent than punishing the guilty. I don't think this is wrong but, when proved guilty, the punishment should be harsh. New laws were made and women were provided with rights to do whatever they want under the threat of a sexual assault. We all commended it. But how would a woman act when she is attacked by a group of those morons? What would a child of six years old do or a fourteen months old baby? We all keep saying that this should stop but deep inside we all know that it wouldn't. I know it won't stop until a ruthless action is taken against them.

The only fear which is common in all human beings is the fear of death. This is something which can restrain an individual from doing anything. But still, hanging them to death would be a very easy end. They will never get to know even half the pain the victim suffered. I have a very unique idea for the punishment of a Rape culprit. The reproductive organ of the culprit should be amputated and a tattoo of "RAPIST" should be carved on their forehead and should be let free. They need examples. Examples of cruelty and viciousness against those who have committed this crime. Until then, nothing would change.

Walk Free

It's ironic how we walk proudly and call ourselves a part of a free nation. A nation that was under the grasp of a powerful country for about two hundred years. Did I just mention a span of two centuries? We fought for our freedom and achieved that. This is really one of the greatest achievements we have ever witnessed. But what we see and what we experience are completely two different things. I feel that we are bound by much more toxic things than what we experienced a few decades ago.

We are independent and we call ourselves free. But we are still in the state of slavery. We are enslaved. Enslaved to brutality against women. Enslaved to child abuse. Enslaved to communal hatred. These are just a few things out of hundreds that I have pointed to. It was much better back then when we were not independent. At least, we had someone to blame. Today, we blame each other and fight amongst ourselves. We were supposed to be united. Every individual should have been safe. I see women walking with fear after dusk. I see children forced to labor. I see people fighting over religious matters. I see the poor and the weak being exploited every day. I don't see the unity and safety of the people. The rich and the people in power are the ones dominating the people of the lower class.  We are surrounded by opportunists who on every step take advantage of the needy.

India for a very long time has promoted peace but we now live with the "let it be" or to be more specific "chalta hai" attitude. We don't care much about anything wrong. We don't want to indulge ourselves in any such matter. Whether it is relevant to the government, corruption, infrastructure, crimes or any such thing, we just want to keep ourselves out of it.
We need to change our mindset. We need to stand and speak for ourselves so that our voices are outreached. With even such minute changes, we can call ourselves privileged and we can "WALK FREE".

Incredible Indians !!

Our country is a mixture of cultures, traditions, regions, diversity in food, languages, etc. But, can we call ourselves united? I am certain that we cannot answer this with complete assurance. Every Indian who is a believer shares a very minute amount of unification traits. We are unified as religious communities but we still lack national unity.

The different states, religions, and customs are adored by everyone but the same mark boundaries of division. We are not divided physically. We are divided mentally. We are more inclined towards our religion. Being religious or spiritual is very pleasing but, following something with an adverse effect on humanity is not acceptable. No religion on this planet indoctrinates a person or a group to act against mankind. Religion has always been a medium for the attainment of inner peace and a pillar for humanity. Some of our people are not able to interpret the actual message that our holy books were written to convey. These people with that inadequate knowledge share their beliefs with others. We listen to them and restrict our level of thinking by accepting their skimpy knowledge.

Religion has never taught us to uphold our beliefs at the cost of humanity. We fight for our religious beliefs. We fight for our God. But, how can we be so silly to even think of providing strength to The Creator himself? Make use of the teachings channeled by our traditions and cultures for our own good and not for the criticism of others. Be a Believer, but don't fight to prove that.

LET'S KEEP IT SIMPLE

Keep it simple! Why can't we? Is it that hard? Keep it simple and be humane Is it too much to ask? Being immodest is easy today And empa...
